Textures and cloth sim finished

yea so as you can see what needed to be finished was finished. The cloth simulation is all working with a cool wind effect but I cant render it out to a movie file just yet because i don't know how with Maya without a third party program but once i get it rendered out and stuff I will put it up here. Now its time for morph targets and for those of you who dont know what that is its basically making facial emotion buttons and sliders. So I will be knee deep in Maya documentation for most of today.

back in the real world I didnt get the job at Toys R Us they said they were looking for people who were year round and i was only available to be seasonal and only 3 months of the season at that so i can understand. but in good news I found out this morning that my car will probably be done mid next week!! man I am excited to be able to drive myself around again pretty much can't wait.

almost done with textures

Getting closer to finishing my textures! so so close indeed just need to do the back of his head and then his eyeballs and ill be good to go.

In other News I should get my car back soon or so I hope the car will have been gone for a month now on Monday :(( sad days. I am also trying to get a job at Toys R Us but not exactly sure if i am going to get that job or not because the interview didn't go so well or at least I didn't think so. But I do know two people that work there so I may end up getting it after all. when I showed up it was about 10 minutes prior and i got into the back room about 5 minutes to and there were only 3 of us and then after my interview was over there were like 5 more people waiting so pretty much bad bears for the people who showed up late that's bad joojoo. other than that its just been me and Whitney hangin out enjoying ourselves in this absolutly wonderful weather that god has blessed us with :D. We even had some wine last night and looked at the stars it was really fun. other than that not a whole lot going on.

Modeling my first human

Wow so it has been forever since i made my last post! over a month ago bleh. So life update I am in the after math of a crazy month! I had strep and mono at the same time near the end of school and let me tell you that was not fun, fortunately for me Whitney was there taking care of me for a little while and that helped a ton and by some miracle of god she hasn't gotten sick at all she must have some sort of super immune system. then i got in a car crash! oh man scary fortunatly i didnt hit the lady that hard at all and noone was hurt sept my gator. normaly my car would have been fine and it would have just been a fender bender but the lady had a bike rack on the back of her car so the point of impact was really small and messed my poor gators face up pretty good :/.

so we pulled over to exchange information and the lady seemed kinda whiney and complained about having a migrain and she mentioned that she was sore once. she filed for injury and I have to say that im skepticle but if she truely is hurt I hope that she gets the money she needs. She was on the phone with her parents the whole time so when we went to exchange information her parents came and she called her husband.....I feel so bad for this woman...her husband was a complete and utter jack ass. He pulls up in his red striped mini cooper lol and gets out and teh first thing he says to his wife is " why am I here?" what kind of ass holel does that seriosly give your wife a hug and ask her if she is okay I had to give whitney a hug to compensate for his lack of kindness.

We left and then she called me and wanted to file a police report so we did that and then the police officer gave me a ticket because that is a rule that you will automaticly get a ticket if a police officer is involved. So now I have pretty much everything underwraps except for the ticket and i just need to pick up the parts for my car and get it fixed at the college. Thank you whitney for being so willing to do all the driving you have been a great sport about it!

Alrighty Now for the projects and pretty pictures and stuff. so since the summer started I have been working pretty diligantly on this character that is pretty much going to be my hail mary pass in terms of getting an internship and hopefully a career eventually. But what I have done so far are the model sheets and a model that is about 60-70% of my first human model done but yea here is what I have done so far.

The Frost Child is born

so this week I have been working on concept art for a story that I have been working on. I finished the painting this morning and I'm pretty happy with the results. it could use a lot more polish as a piece of art but for the perposes that I wanted it for this works pretty well. Now I have to start on the turn around sheets for modeling.

Times are good :)

Alrighty it is March 20th! almost my 21st birthday on top of all the other ah-mah-zong (amazing) things going on in my life right now! I should start with the most exciting news which is that me and Whitney are now officially a couple so now that spring break is here we have been hanging out a lot watching the Ali G show isa very neice! we also made some awesome peanut butter passion bars that i ate most of in one day and by we made i actually mean me watching Whitney do most of the work and me trying a few things and mucking it up lol! but it was a lot of fun regardless. I also met her brother and his fiance and they were really cool!! they said we might go and all hang out with one another sometime soon which would be a blasty blast for sure :).

in other career related news Steven the ceo of Algitt Studios has secured a pitch date a week and a half from now at south peak our number 1 choice publisher he is also trying for microsoft which would be pretty cool and another company thats located here in Bellevue. Steven is pretty confident that he can sell Algitt if he can actually talk to someone and now he finay has that opportunity so i have high hopes! i would love to start my career this summer that would be pretty amazing. plus if i do that then I can also get credit for my sr. projects class early and not have to worry about it next year and in its sted have a paying job which would alswase be nice because having disposable income is nice.

In school I have juat been working on my jr project and making some props for my game team. Physics is sooooooo hard :( i am so glad im an artist so that i forget this crap as soon as I'm done sometimes the class is really helpfull when the teacher is telling about how things work and why they work the way they do but as soon as he starts talking in formulahs and numbers i dont have the will power necesary to pay attention for more thna 5 minuts at a time I physicly cant even if i try and even if i do manage to pay attention for an extended period of time somehow most of the time i cant understand what he is doing so i have to rely on doing the homework in a big group of people whrre usually one person knows what they are doing to get my work done....its stupid this class needs to be altered to be something usefull for the artists.

this week im posting my rendered final versions of my genari final dialogue and all the animation that I have done for my game team so far aswell as the prop and teh concept art that I have done for them.

Coffee Kina Make Me Nervous

Wow okay so it's almost been a month since my last update! sorry about that to whoever actually reads this thing if anyone does. But I have been very active this last month what with school and actually having a little bit of a life :D. I met a nice gal on an internet dating site and we have been on 2 dates now and a third coming up this Saturday and so far we have meshed really well.

In school I have been working on a lip sync Dialogue from Slingblade. This clip is week 2 submission out of a 4 week process.

Untitled from Kevin Hart on Vimeo.

I am writing this in the left over portion of my Projects class and today I had a presentation of my final animation and it actually went over pretty well. I have a few minor changes to make but nothing that would take me any more than an hour or two to fix. Now all I have left to do is get my environment back to where I had it last semester, polish some of the camera angles, and create 2 sets of lighting for the character and for my two environments.

And in other news this week I just blew a lot of cash last night ahhhh! O.o I bought my first laptop last night and as soon as i checked out i was like OMG what the hell did i just do! because i feel really guilty spending that much money that isn't really mine. But now that I have slept on it I feel better about the decision. I also calculated it out and figured that it was the same amount i would have spent if i had spent 10 dollers a week on eating out/coffee since moving to seattle. So i figure a laptop is a little better than some coffee and a stomech ache from the cafine. The laptop I got was a smokin deal though for what I got and I got a great package deal for a fan cooler station for it aswell. I am really happy that ill be able to actually have consistantly working tablet drivers and now always be able to use my nice tablet with the programes that I want and also have the ability to do it in more places than just home since im only really there for sleeping and eating lol. anyways here is a link to the unit I got
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834117857

Stevens Company is continually looking more and more promising. He recently finished ManaGen his first game under the Algitt studios name and now he is compiling a presentation of everyones work that he has asked to work for him in preperation for the persuit of getting his company a publisher which is actually looking pretty likly especially considering the main company that he is going for only invests in start up game companies.

For individual projects I am still working on arthas once i stop being lazy and ask will for his camera ill get the pictures that I have of him so far up and on here. His entire body is done and now all I have left to do is his sword Frostmorne and His helmet which are the two most important parts of his entire costume so I still have a lot of work to do to really make this thing look nice. I also still have to cut a hole in his head so i can get the lights inside of his head. I set up the circuit for the button activated LED lights and all the flippin switches that I got from Radio shack were broken :/ they completed the circuit just fine so I know I was doing it right but when I pressed the button it never cut the circuit off :X so I still have to go back to radio shack and pick up some more switches.

but thats all for this week :D

Process for Sir Frank

this is just a picture of the process I go through when drawing that frank asked me for.

Anticipation Galor

So it's Monday February 9th and the anticipation is building. One of my friends was nice enough to share some commonly asked questions in interviews with me so now I'm at least a little prepared for a phone interview.

In other news I have been watching this History channel series called the universe and there was an episode about a giant meteor that has a chance at hitting the earth sometime around 2012. So i had a really horrifying dream last night where there was this meteor that was crashing onto the earths atmosphere. Imagine holding a football in your hands then think of a giant rock that size in the sky trailed with blue flames rumbling the ground underneath you and you can feel the gravitational force pulling you away from earth at the same time. It was scary and awesome!

lets see in art this week I kinda rediscovered painter and how amazing the brushes are in it and I started working on some concept for a side project that I am working on. here is what I have so far.

this week Jenky and I both got our Munny's and are going to start their creation soon. I got a 4" one and both of us got a 7" one. Jenky is Doing Illidan and I am doing Arthas. If you dont know

what it is that im talking about Ill show you. Imagine the two mixed and you got the idea of what im making. I even went to radio shack and learned how to make Button activated LED lights for his eyes. Ill post pictures once I start on it and when I am finished

blahhh!

So this week I needed a break so i decided to do a painting I call The Perfect Compliment, sort of commenting on how a couple compliments and balances one another.

I really need to start remembering to sign and date my work.

Oh also. I heard back from Susan at Vixen Design and she said that she has been really busy latly and hadnt had time to check her e-mail much but she said that she forwarded the designes to her sister and told her to take a look and email me back and all that jazz but she never did so she is going to go and talk to her about it. So we will see whats gana go down here in a couple more weeks I think. Ill keep you posted as I hear more

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Okay so its wednesday the 14th and there is all sorts of things going on right now. I still havn't heard back from Vixen designs about the T-shirt design job or anything which is kinda lame since its been like a week and a half but oh well what can you do right? Aside from that I have been working on lots of school projects including posing a 3d model for animation, roughing out keys for my Jr. project, and coordinating with my new game team.

OH! i forgot to mention last week pretty much the most important thing thats going on right now which is this wonderfull oportunity that I have to get a summer internship at Blizzard! oh man I am so excited I can barly stand it. below is one of the animations that im going to put in my demo reel. It's a idle cycle with a character that I call the sickly minion. Right now its looking like Im going to have 3 animations in my reel I can't really afford to have more because of time constraints and I am inproving so fast that by the time i do 2 more animations the ones that I submit will probably be thrown out.

This week in the game Steven and I are working on for Xbox Live I did a couple iterations of the fire from last week but longer for background perposes. Stevens goal is to have a playable version with shooting sprites so its prety exciting!

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

So Monday this week marked the beginning of the second semester of the year and its now Tuesday and I can already tell that I've probably over committed myself to a mouth full of crazy hours of work.

A few days back I was doing a show on blogtv and a gal came in that wanted to promote her clothing company to the common folk. I have always been interested in doing designs for t shirts for a company like this and I finally got a opportunity right on my door step. So I showed her a painting that I did and they seemed pretty interested in my ability as an artist. We exchanged a few e-mails and now they have asked me to submit something for them to munch on and decide if m what they are looking for. They said they were looking for crazy patterns bright colors and some other styles I didn't really know with a touch of darkness. So I dreamed up a surreal picture that i did two different versions of.

So now I am anxiously waiting for a reply from them. I think having this as a side project would help me stay less fatigued from all this homework from school. Not to mention possibly give me a little extra cash to spend on getting a lap top and since it's made from my art that means I would have finally earned my tattoo. So who knows whats going to happen! here is their website in case you want to check it out http://vixendesigns.webs.com/apps/webstore/

next thing thats exciting up on this list is that I just might have a job! a full fledged job with a salary lined up :O. I'm not really going to say much just because nothing is really to solid yet because one major road block is still in the way before that could happen and It's a big one but still! I am really excited about it.

I am also working on a game now with Steven Scott from school that were hoping to release on X-Box live some time around the end of the month I think. He is doing pretty much everything by himself programing sprites you name it that crazy man can do it and is crunching it into a very small time period because he is just that awesome. My part is pretty minimal and just involves making some spiffy special effects. So far all I have made is an oil fire but it actually has been turning out surprisingly well . now the effect is really cool but this video really sucks but at least you can see what its kinda like this way.

and other than those 3 things I have animation club Suzann's animation sessions on Tuesdays and oh yea almost forgot to mention school....ahhhh! I am going to be super busy this semester. But all things considered I am really looking forward to it and I am definitely up for the challenge being bored is a much much worse sentence.

Ill post again once I have heard back from the Vixen designs. :D

Peace out
So I'm not exactly sure what the purpose of this blog is going to be yet weather it be for entertainment or logging in general i don't really know but who cares? I think ill just be purring a whole bunch of random crap up here from my life and if your into that kind of thing then by all means come along it will be an adventure.
